Recently I was sent this lovely Leisure Art's pattern book of shawls to review; Shawls You'll Love. Inside is patterns for 13 beautiful shawls and wraps. Leisure Arts has also included, as a bonus, on-line video tutorials. I checked them out! This video feature is fantastic; especially if you aren't sure how to make one of the stitches in the pattern. These videos are done for the left or right-handed; perfect for all crocheters!! They have also included written instructions; how to follow the patterns, what the various abbreviations and symbols mean and how to choose the proper yarn for each project.
The shawl I chose to make is called "Daydream". This pattern calls for a #4 weight yarn. I used Red Heart Super Saver in a light blue with a small amount of black for contrast. Each pattern includes a gauge and instructions for making a gauge swatch. I recommend taking the time to make a swatch and getting your gauge correct. There is nothing worse than putting your time into a project only to find out that it is to small or to big. The small amount of time invested in making your swatch is well worth it!
These beautiful shawls will make a nice addition to any wardrobe, to give as gifts or to make as prayer shawls. I love the variety of stitches they use and the construction methods.
