Today we begin September's project. Last week I posted the materials that you will need. So, if you are ready to begin, the pattern is as follows.
4 - 4 oz skeins Red Heart Soft Baby Steps
This shawl is worked from the point up. This pattern is written in American Crochet Terms and is rated as "easy".
Designer notes: you will be working in the spaces between the v-sts of the previous row, not in the v-sts
Stitches and abbreviations used:
V-Stitch - V-st (to make: dc, ch 1, dc in st or space indicated)
Double Crochet - dc
Single Crochet - sc
Chain - ch
Turning chain - tc
Magic Ring - mr
To begin: make mr, ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1 here and through out) dc in ring. Pull ring tight. If you do not know the magic ring method you can ch 4 and dc in first chain made. Turn, ch 4.
Row 2 - dc in first dc, v-st in 3rd ch of tc. Turn ch 4
Row 3 - dc in first dc, skip 1 dc, v-st in next space, v- st in 3rd ch of tc. Turn, ch 4.
Rows 4 - 68 - repeat row 3
When you reach the end of row 68 do not fasten off, we will be working in the ends of the rows to create the edging.
