Peaches ’n Creme Cotton
1 ball Ecru, or color of your choice
small amount of Ocean Coral or color of your choice
tapestry needle to weave in ends
6 row x 4 v stitches = 4 in
Half Double Crochet - hdc
V Stitch - v st (to make hdc v st, hdc in indicated st, ch 1, hdc in same st) V st made
Single Crochet - sc
Slip Stitch - ss
Magic Ring - mr
Pattern Notes This pattern makes a bonnet that will fit a 3 to 6 month old baby. Chain 3 at beginning of rows counts as 1st hdc plus chain 1
Pattern is worked in joined rounds for first 4 rounds, it is worked in rows after this point
Flat Circle Measurement at end of round 4 is 3.5 inches.
You can make this a solid color or make it striped like mine. I made my color changes on rows, 6, 9 , 12, 13 & 14.
Mr, (if you don’t know the magic ring method you can chain 3, 12 hdc in 3rd ch from hook) ch 2, 12 hdc in ring, join with ss, ch 2
Rnd 2 - 2 hdc in each st around (24 hdc). Join with ss, ch 2
Rnd 3 - 2 hdc in same st as join, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around. (36 hdc) Join, ch 2
Rnd 4 - 2 hdc in same st as join, *hdc in next 2 st, 2 hdc in next st, repeat from * around.
Do not join. (48 hdc)
Row 1 - ch 3 turn, hdc in base of turning chain, * skip 1 st, hdc v st in next st, repeat from * 19 times. (20 v sts, 1 hdc, 1 turning chain)
Row 2 - ch 3 turn, hdc in v st of previous row, v st 20 times
Rows 3 - 14 - Repeat row 2. Do not fasten off
Edging - sc in last st of row 14, ch 30, ss back up chain, sc in same stitch and in ends of rows and rounds across bottom of bonnet to next corner space. Sc in corner, ch 30, ss back up chain, make sc in same corner space, fasten off, weave in ends.
