Materials:
1 5 oz/141 g skein Red Heart Fruitty Stripes
super saver yarn
Size 10 (US)/6.00 mm knitting needles
Tapestry/yarn needle
Scissors/snips
Stitches and Abbreviations:
Knit (k)
Knit 2 together (k2tog)
Yarn over (y/o)
Cast on (c/o)
Bind off (b/o)
Stitch(es) (st/s)
Gauge:
Gauge is not really important in this pattern.  If you knit tightly I would go up a needle size.
My gauge is 6 rows by 5 stitches in pattern = 2 inches


Cast on 36 sts with size 10 needles

Rows 1-5 k across
Row 6 (pattern repeat)  k 3, *k1, y/o, k2tog, repeat from * to last 3 sts, k 3.
Repeat Row 6 for pattern until piece measures 35.5 inches
K 4 rows
B/O in knit

This scarf measures 36 inches long and is 9 inches wide.
