Stitches and Abbreviations: Kfb Knit front and back of stitch, creates 1 increase Inc Increase K2tog Knit 2 together C/O Cast on B/O Bind off st Stitch
Gauge: 10 rows x 9 stitches in garter stitch = 2 inches
Measurements: approximately 50 inches by 5 inches This pattern has been tested by Cheryl Frye
Increase Rows: C/O 1 st Kfb (inc) the first stitch of every row until you have 30 stitches Knit the next row Pattern Rows: Row 1 and every odd numbered row Kfb, k to last 2 sts, k2tog (30 stitches) Row 2 and every even numbered row k Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for pattern until piece measures 48 inches (ending with Row 2); when measuring you will be measuring the long edge. Don't worry about the short edge it will catch up when you begin your decrease rows. Decrease rows: Row 1: k2tog, k to last 2 stitches, k2tog Row 2: k across Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until you have 2 stitches left, k2tog, fasten off, weave in ends.
