Materials:
I hook Tapestry needle 1 3.5 oz/100 gram/240 yd ball of Cascade Yarns Cherub Aran A 55% nylon/45% acrylic blend yarn. Gauge Stitches and Abbreviations: ch (chain) sc (single crochet) dc (double crochet) rep (repeat) sk (skip) Special Stitches: 4 dc Puff Stitch: (*yo, insert hook in next stitch or space indicated, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook) rep from * 3 times more in same stitch, yo draw through 5 loops on hook. 4 dc puff stitch made. Notes: The 4 dc puff stitch is made around the post of a dc. This causes the stitch to lay sideways in the pattern. The ch 3 you will be working your sc into lays on the top of the 4 dc puff stitch. To begin: With I hook chain 38 Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch, *sk next 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 3, work 4 dc puff st around post of last dc made, sk next 2 ch, dc in next 4 ch, rep from * across, ending with dc in last 2 ch. Turn Row 2: Ch 3, (counts as dc) sk 1st dc, dc in next dc, *ch 2, sc in next ch 3 space, ch 2, skip next dc **, dc in next 4 dc, rep from * across, ending last rep at **, dc in next dc, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Turn Row 3: Ch 3, (counts as dc,) sk 1st dc, dc in next dc, *sk next ch 2 space, dc in next sc, ch 3, work 4 dc puff st around post of last dc made, sk next ch 2 space**, dc in next 4 dc, Rep from * across, ending last rep at **, dc in next dc, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Repeat rows 2 and 3 for pattern, ending project with row 3. Finishing: Working on opposite side of beginning ch join yarn with ss and ch 2, dc in same ch as join and next ch, *sk 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 3, make 4 dc puff st around post of last dc made, sk 2 ch, dc in next 4 ch, rep from * across, fasten off, weave in ends.
