Here is how I made my block ~
8 Inch Berry Stitch Block Materials ~ I/5.5 mm/9 hook 2 oz Peaches n Creme #4 Cotton Yarn I used Country Pink and Floral Bouquet Tapestry needle to weave in ends Techniques/Stitches Used ~ Regular Crochet Single Crochet - sc Berry Stitch - Bst Chain - ch To make the Berry Stitch (Bst) ~ Insert hook in specified stitch or chain, draw up a loop, leaving the loop on your hook, chain 3, y/o draw yarn through both loops on hook, Berry Stitch made. Gauge ~ 8 st x 8 rows = 2 inches To Begin ~ Chain 30 Row 1 - Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across, ch 1 turn Row 2 - Sc in first sc, *Bst in next sc, sc in the next sc; repeat from * across, ch 1, turn Row 3 - Sc across Row 4 - Bst in first sc, sc in next st, *Bst in next sc, repeat from * across to last sc, sc, chain 1 turn Row - 5 Sc in each stitch across Repeat rows 2 - 5 for pattern, continue working in pattern for 27 more rows. I have been practicing the Berry Stitch. I have created an 8 inch block for you to make. This block is perfect for an afghan or you could use it as a dish/wash cloth. The great texture is perfect for scrubbing dishes. Anything that makes housework easier is A-OK in my book!
