All Star Coasters

Today I am going to give you the pattern for these cute coasters.  Made with an H hook and a ball of Peaches 'n Creme Cotton; they work up quickly with great results.  You can make a set of 4 from just one ball!!  Each coaster took me approximately 20 minutes to make.

If you are going to a cook out on the Fourth of July and are thinking of making a hostess gift, then this little project is perfect!!

What you will need:
One 2 oz ball of Nautical Ombre Peaches n Creme Cotton
H/8/5 mm hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Scissors or snips
20 minutes (to make one coaster)
a fresh cup of coffee or tea (iced or hot)!!

Stitches Used:
magic ring - mr
double crochet - dc
chain - ch
single crochet - sc
slip stitch - ss
shell - to make, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in indicated space or st.  Shell made.

Round 1:  make mr, ch 2, 12 dc in ring.  (if you don't know this method you can ch 3, make 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook.)  Join with ss in 1st dc. (12 dc)
Round 2:  2 dc in each st around.  Join with ss in top of 1st dc.  (24 dc)
Round 3:  2 dc in same st as join; dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next, repeat from * around.  Join with ss in 1st dc.  (36 dc)
Round 4:  Ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc (beg. shell made) in same st as join.  *Ch 2, skip 2 st, sc in next st, ch 2, skip 2 st, shell in next st; repeat from * around.  Join with sc in top of ch 3.
Round 5:  sc in next st, 2 sc in ch 2 space, sc in next 2 sts, ch 2, sc in next st, ch 2, *sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in ch 2 sp, sc in next 2 sts, ch 2, sc in next st, ch 2, repeat from * around.  Join with ss in first sc, fasten off, weave in ends.
