Closing up?

10/12/2016

Recently I have been thinking about closing this website down.  I try not to get to personal here, as I consider it a business and who wants to listen to me blabber away!!  So, this post is a little personal; fair warning!!

When I began to crochet again I was recovering from cancer.  Six years ago, 9.11.2010, I had the first of three surgeries for stage 4 head and neck cancer.  I then began the long journey back to good health.  After 30 radiation treatments, a feeding tube in my stomach, and chemo-therapy, I was left with very little energy or ability to do much of anything.  The radiation burned my mouth and my taste buds, leaving me unable to eat.  The surgeries left me unable to look over my left shoulder, as a muscle has been removed from my neck.  So, after a long road, with more than a few bumps in it, here I am.

Now I am recovered, my life is changing once again.  I am in a bit of a pickle here.  I am not sure what direction to go in.  I feel better, I have been given a clean bill of health; I have even started looking for work outside of the house.
Now I must decide whether or not to keep this site running.  I haven't been designing as much lately, some days I don't even pick up my hooks!!  My question to all of my group members, there are 128 of you, is this:  Do you think I should keep going here, bringing you a pattern a month, maybe two, or just post my patterns in my Ravelry shop and notify everyone via Facebook?  If I continue with this site, I will still make all of my patterns free here vs paid on Ravelry.  I am looking to all of you, that have been faithful to this site for your in-put.  I value each and everyone of you and must say, that everyone that I have interacted with on-line has had a big impact on my recovery.  You have all kept me going and now once again I look to you for answers.  Thank you all so much for everything you have done for me, God Bless you all.

Please stay, even if it is once a month. Glad you are feeling better and returning to work. I just returned to work this summer after 8 years of not working and I get how wonderful it is to be a survivor. Going on 12 years post stage 3 C plus breast cancer. Prayers for you.

Dear Ardith,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so happy to hear that you too are a survivor. It really makes you appreciate the little things in life that many of us take for granted. I hope you are enjoying your job, so far I haven't been able to find anything but I will continue to look. God Bless you, prayers for you.

I'm glad you're enjoying life again I'd love for you to continue on here but if you feel you would like to go enjoy yourself Or do something different i would not blame you, even if you post every few months or so I'd still be a follower

Thank you Deborah for your kind words and response to this post. I am grateful to you and everyone whom comes by to visit me here. I finally feel like I am not a patient anymore. The time I spent recovering helped me discover a whole new "internet" world. Everyone has been so kind to me. It really seems strange to say, but by being diagnosed with cancer I have been blessed with so many caring people. God Bless you ~ xoxo
