diamond crochet cowl ~ pattern review

Several months ago I attempted to make Moogly's Diamond Crochet Cowl. It is a beautiful cowl done in Front Post Treble Crochet Two Together (fptc2tog). I couldn't get the pattern to work for me, got frustrated with it and frogged it. At the time I attempted it, she hadn't made a video yet. So glad that she did; it really helped me a great deal. Especially the end join of the round.
I am very happy to say that I have tried again with great success!! I watched the video that was made and double checked all of my work and I am truly loving the results. I wouldn't recommend this pattern for a beginner but would recommend it to anyone with a little more experience. I used Red Heart with Love yarn. I am very pleased with the way the cowl came out but not with the yarn. I washed it and discovered that it "pilled up" on me. I have another one started, this time I am using Cascade merino wool and acrylic blend. It is a worsted weight yarn but isn't quite as heavy as the Red Heart and is working up nicely.
You can view the video here:
And you can find the pattern here ~ the link is in the pic of the finished cowl. I hope that you enjoy making this cowl as much as I did. Thank you Moogly for another great FREE pattern :-)
