Make a holiday headband for yourself or the little girls in your life with this simple pattern. This pattern works up quick, you can make one in less than an hour! Make it with holiday colors or any color of your choice; it will surely compliment your holiday attire. This pattern makes a 12" band.

When you reach your desired length, you will be working around the piece with chain 3, slip stitch. I have included a photo tutorial to help you visualize what I have done. To begin: Chain 3, 5 dc in 3rd chain from hook. First shell made. See pictures 1 through 3. *Chain 4, slip stitch in 4th chain from hook to form ring, chain 3, turn. 5 dc in ring. Repeat from * until you reach your desired length. I made 14 shells for my band. (See pictures 2 & 3) Finishing Round: (See pictures 4 - 7) Chain 3, turn. *Slip stitch in next dc, chain 3. Repeat from * 2 times more. (4 chain 3 chains, 4 ss) To connect next shell, slip stitch in 1st dc, *chain 3, ss in next dc, repeat from *. (see pictures 4-6, if you need to see what I have done.) Continue working until you reach the end of your work, connect shells to work up other side of piece. See picture 7. Slip stitch into 1st chain 3, fasten off, weave in ends. I used a thin child size plastic headband (smooth) and wove it through the center of my work. As an alternative you can thread a piece of matching ribbon through and tie around head to adjust the fit. I hope you enjoy making this headband. It is a quick and easy project that even a beginner can make. Please keep in mind that I am left handed, so looking at my work it may look backwards to you!!
