How Home made hats got it's name
As many of you know I am a cancer survivor. It will five years since my diagnosis in November and 5 years since I finished my treatments in May of 2016. This is when I will be considered "cured".
I picked crochet back up after a long absence (I was busy raising three children & working to support them) to help take up my time while in recovery. I started out just making simple beanie hats for my family and friends. Eventually I found the on-line crochet community. I began posting a million pictures of the hats that I had made to my Facebook page.
It took me awhile to start a new Facebook page just for crochet. I didn't start out thinking that I would blog, gain friends and followers or have a page on Linkdin or Google+. I have been thinking about changing the name of this blog to Hats by Cheryl. Home made hats by Cheryl just seems to long for me.
The reason for the name Home made hats is a simple one. When I created my Facebook business page, Facebook asked what the page was about. My reply to that, Home made hats. If I had know then what I know now, I would have thought of something a little more original!! There you have it, that is how the name came about and why it is what it is today!

Haha, Cheryl, if any of us knew then what we knew now... I often struggle with my long name, too :).
