I have been working on another pattern done in the Chunky Melody yarn by BambooMN.com. The lovely colorway I used for this hat is called Fieldstone Purple. This is a #5 weight and works up quickly. This hat uses one 3.5 oz ball of this pretty yarn.

Materials: N/9 mm hook 1 3.5 oz ball Chunky Melody, I used Fieldstone Purple Tapestry Needle Scissors or Snips Stitches and Abbreviations Used: Shell - sh (to make, 3 dc in stitch or space indicated) ch - chain dc - double crochet hdc - half double crochet ss - slip stitch sk - skip sc - single crochet mr - magic ring Round 1 - make mr, ch 2, 12 dc in ring. Pull ring tight, join with a ss in top of ch 2, ch 2. (12 dc) If you don't know the magic ring method, ch 3, 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook Round 2 - 2 dc in each st around, join with ss in top of beginning ch 2., ch 2. (24 dc) Round 3 - 2 dc in first st, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around, join, ch 2. (36 dc) Round 4 - 2 dc in first st, *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * around, join, ch 2. (48 dc) Round 5 - 2 dc in first st, *sk 1 st, sc in next st, sk 1 st, shell in next st, repeat from * around, join with ss in top of beg ch 2. Round 6 - ss in next st, ch 1, sc in same st, *sk 1 st, shell in next st, sk 1 st, sc in next st, repeat from * around, join with ss in beginning sc, ch 2. Repeat rounds 5 & 6 for pattern for 9 more rounds, join with ss, ch 1 Finishing Round - sc in each st around, fasten off, weave in ends.
