I have started a new job, tried to launch another web site, Sherry's Crochet Corner, and made a few projects, both knit and crochet. The summer is gone and autumn is here. Every fiber crafter's favorite season. Today I am introducing a new pattern, the Rolled Brim Beanie. I used Lion Brand Yarn's Scarfie for this project. You will also need a K/10.5/6.5 mm hook and a I/9/5.5 mm hook. To begin, with K hook make a magic ring. Ch 2, 12 dc in ring. If you don't know the magic ring method, ch 3, make 12 dc in the 3rd ch from hook. Chain 2, join with a ss st in 1st dc. Rnd 2: 2 dc in each dc around, join with ss in 1st dc made, ch 2 Rnd 3: *2 dc in first dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * around, join, ch 2 Rnd 4: *2 dc in first dc, dc in next 2 dc, repeat from * around, join, ch 2 Rnd 5: *2 dc in first dc, dc in next 3 dc, repeat from * around, join ch 2 Rnd 6: *2 dc in first dc, dc in next 4 dc, repeat from * around, join, ch 2 Rnds 7 - 14: dc in each dc around, join with ss in first dc made, join ch 2 Rnd 15: dc in each dc around, join, ch 1 Rnd 16: sc in each dc around, join, ch 1 Rnd 17: sc in each dc around, join with ss. Fasten off. Make pom pom (optional) and attach to top center of hat; weave in ends. Roll up last 2 rounds. Wear. This pattern will fit an adult woman, if you want more of a rolled brim, continue working in sc until the hat is to your liking.
