Here is a scrubby done with Red Heart's Scrubby Sparkle. This #4 medium weight specialty yarn comes in 10 vibrant colors. I was sent this yarn to try and I must say, I really liked it. Not only is it great for dishes and spa items but I think it would make a nice trim on children's novelty items.
This yarn is 100% polyester. The recommended hook size is I (5.5 mm) and needle size is 8 (5 mm) US. Scrubby Sparkle comes in 3 oz (85 g) balls and is machine washable on the gentle cycle and tumble dry on low heat. What you will need for the scrubby is a J hook and a small amount of Scrubby Sparkle yarn and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends. Stitches and Abbreviations Used: mr - magic ring dc - double crochet tc - triple crochet With J hook make mr, 12 dc in ring. Pull ring tight. Join with a slip stitch, chain 4. If you don't know the magic ring method, you can chain 3 and make 12 dc in 3rd chain from hook. Round 2 - make 9 tc in same stitch as join, make 10 tc each stitch around. Join with slip stitch, fasten off and weave in ends. (119 tc, 1 ch 4) This scrubby can be used on dishes but is also soft enough to use as a spa scrub.
