The berry stitch, it sounds yummy doesn't it? This unique little stitch is simple to do and creates great texture for your crochet project.
It can be used as an edging on a blanket or sweater, the possiblities for this stitch are endless. This stitch uses any even number chain multiple. I used 30 for my project. I am working in cotton with an I/5.5mm/9 hook To make the Berry Stitch (Bst) ~ Insert hook in specified stitch or chain, draw up a loop, leaving the loop on your hook, chain 3, y/o draw yarn through both loops on hook, voila Berry Stitch made. The stitch pattern is as follows: Row 1 - Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across, ch 1 turn Row 2 - Sc in first sc, *Bst in next sc, repeat from * across, ch 1, turn Row 3 - Sc across Row 4 - Bst in first sc, sc in next st, *Bst in next sc, repeat from * across to last sc, sc, chain 1 turn Row - 5 Sc in each stitch across Note - on row 4 your last two (2) stitches will be sc Repeat rows 2 - 5 for pattern I am working on a dish/wash cloth using this cute stitch.
